Eight fears

In continuing with my 10-day-you challenge, I've come up with a list of my eight fears... it was seriously a hard thing to do, but I did it!

10 Day You Challenge
8. Coming in at number eight is... Horror movies- these don't just scare me- they are a fear!I should probably say I have a fear of the whole genre of horror- not just movies, it's just when you're reading a book and it says the axe murderer opened the door, you can make yourself picture unicorns and bunnies... in a movie, not so much.
7. Death. I'm sure the majority of people are scared of this and I really don't want to be (which is why it's only 7th on my list) but I'm not going to lie to you it's a fear of mine.

6. Deep water. Lots of people find this one strange when I tell them it's a fear of mine, but even just looking at a photograph of deep water in the middle of no where gives me shivers...

5.I guess in tying in with deep water, another fear I've had ever since I can remember is tsunamis. I literally can't look at this photo for more than a five seconds. Literally.

4. Exams- I'm at the ripe old age where I'm preparing for my super-duper important exams. I know in the scheme of things, they shouldn't be this far up on the list, but just the fact that I'm going into them now makes them seem even scarier than horror movies :O
This may or may not be what I'm most afraid of!

3. Cockroaches- they make me physically ill

2. Cockroaches- their such a big fear they deserve two top 3 fear spots.
The worst thing about them...

Although I did find this quite interesting:
Like Steph like Cockroach!

1. My top one would be losing close friends and family, or having to watch them suffer. Every night before I go to bed, they're the last people I think of and I send them happy and healthy thoughts for tomorrow.

But really we all know what my real #1 fear is:

Something that doesn't scare me- chocolate oats and mango froyo :) :) :)

Just some happy pictures to finish off a less than happy post! (I do not like facing/ revealing my fears, I've decided)

What's your greatest fear?
Cockroaches- who's a fan?

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

WIAW #16- Food makes me smile:)

Hello, hello, here we are again with a look into What I Ate Wednesday, glimpsing into the spoiled life that is my stomach!
Linking up with the wonderful Peas and Crayons!
Let's get to it, shall we?

A full 24 hours of eats:
Breakfast:
A big mug of fudgey chocolatey steel cut oats with chunks of cocnut butter mixed in and a side of mango froyo!
My steel cut oats were 1/3 cup steel cut oats + 1 big tablespoon of raw cacao +1 chopped banana+ 1 1/4 cups of oat milk+ a dash of cinnamon
All placed in a saucepan over medium heat and simmered for 15-20 mins and then left to sit for another 10-15 mins to cool and thicken (this is when you stir in a bit of coconut butter (mines solid from the temps being so cold in Aus))
Soooo chocolatey and good!
Lunch:
A sourdough/ rye panini type sandwich.
Filled with hommus, spinach, mashed sweet potato, mashed lentils mixed with salsa, grilled capsicum and grilled eggplant, nice and toasted in a sandwich press:
Snack:
A cut up peach, some blueberries and soy milk :)
Dinner:
STUFFED SWEET POTATO!
Hmmm, I wonder what colour it will be...
PURPLE! :)
Stuffed with a veggie burger, salsa and a side of barley, sauteed mushrooms, olives, pumpkin, parsnip, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, hommus and nutritional yeast:
Good stuff.

And... back to breakfast!
Some frozen banana whazzed up with greek yoghurt:

Topped off with some raw muesli mixed with oat milk and cashew butter (1 tablespoon cashew butter+1/3 cup oat milk) that was first heated in the microwave for 30 seconds and then rubbed into muesli:
I also added some wholegrain cheerios and fresh blueberries :D
I don't know why, but I've suddenly taken to raw granola more-so than my cooked versions- like in this post. For some awesome cooked granolas check out here and here.

And there you go- 24 hours of food that's passed my lips and made me smile!
Your challenge for this week: create as many yummy dishes as possible this week, that leave you with a sheepish grin plastered on your face after the first bite!
Have a great Wednesday and don't forget to see what everyone else is nom-ing!

In with the new and the old!

If you have been a long time reader of From Steph to Chef, you may have figured out my absolute favourite breakfast, or even my absolute favourite food for that matter.
Of course I am talking about the delightfully delicious peanut butter and banana toastie! I was going through my photos and realised just how many times I have photographed this one breakfast! So I made a little collage for you:

Today I realised I hadn't had one of these in yonks (like maybe more than a month!) and decided that I needed to fix this:
Paired here with some mango froyo!
If I had to choose my next favourite breakfast, it would be simple creamy banana oats, and of
recently- steel cut oats:
1/3 cup steel cut oats + 1 cup milk ( I used oat milk) + 1 sliced banana
Let bubble away for 10-15 mins, stirring occassionally- then I usually have to add a touch more milk, bubble for 5 more mins, then I just like to let it hang out in my bowl (mug) for 10-15 mins, to cool and let the flavours infuse)
Eaten here with a simple berry smoothie:

With a spoon of peanut butter and a dash of cinnamon:
So as you can see I like sticking to my tried and true old recipes, but I do love to experiment in the kitchen as well- just check out my breakfast page!
After working hard at cleaning my room (I mean cleaning!) something I haven't done ever! I went through everything and through out maybe 50% of my stuff (well gave it to the op-shop)  I figured I needed to make my room more 15-year-old-y and so I've also started on a secret project which I shall reveal to you when I have finished! Anywho, I was working up an appetite and quickly whipped this up:
Another oldie but a goodie- a toasted wrap!
spread with hommus, topped with spinach, grilled veggie burger, grilled capsicum and mushrooms, sliced tomato and avocado, grilled in a sandwich press.
check out my awesome wrapping skillz:

It's also very nice and neatly tucked in there:
My new lunch was a delicious salad, with a side of roasted pumpkin and organic vegetable tortilla chips:
The salad was soo good. After reading this post, I decided to cut my veggies up nice and small so I could have a taste of everything all at once- genius!
In it was torn spinach and kale, diced tomato, carrot, capsicum, peas, beetroot (cut into matchsticks) dried tomato strips, chopped chives, basil, garlic tofu and a nice squeeze of lemon juice= yum!
So colourful :)  The roast pumpkin was simply cut then drizzled with olive oil and roasted at 180 degrees celsius for 30 mins.
This lunch was pretty darn tasty and filling!
And now I just want to leave you with a pic of last nights sky:
Because pink really is everywhere :D
Have a fabulous Sunday everyone!
