A breakfast recap

Hello everyone!
On this blog, I've said a few times how I'm not a creature of habit, I like to mix things up and rarely have the same thing two days in a row and I'm not lying, however I do seem to have a sort of breakfast rotation starting to happen for some reason, with all of my favourites appearing once in my week.
What's on my rotation?
So it may come as a surprise to you to see what kinds of breakfasts appeared in my hot little hands last week...
A wholemeal crumpet with peanut butter!
Smoothie= nudie juice plus some black grapes :)

The next day I did something totally wild and made...
A smoothie bowl!
The smoothie was 1 frozen banana, half a chopped deliciously ripe mango, 3 big scoops of greek yoghurt, a big handful of spinach, a big handful of kale and a splash of almond milk, all whazzed up until smooth:
Topped with some cashew butter granola (1 tablespoon of cashew butter placed in the microwave with 1/3 cup almond milk for 30 seconds- stir then rubbed into 1/2 cup fruity muesli, spread onto baking paper lined tray and baked in oven at 180 degrees celsius for 15 mins)
Then of course made even prettier when I began to actually eat it:
Seriously though, smoothie bowls are just so fabulous, why would I take them off my weekly rotation?
I wouldn't :)

Ok, so you may not have been shocked by my first two breakfasts, but buckle in, this one is so unpredictable...
Ok, I lied again. Smoothie + OIAJ! (oats in a jar)
Now guys, this may have been the best smoothie I have ever made. I don't even know what I did differently, but it was super big, super yummy and just plain- SUPER!

Same recipe as above just with frozen mango, instead of not frozen and a tad more yoghurt I think?
Just admire the smoothie's beauty for a second.
Good admiring people. Of course the oats were great too. Based off this recipe and chucked into an almost empty jar of almond butter! Best bowl ever!
So what's in store for next weeks breakfasts? I'm not sure, it could be anything, I could have a complete personality change and have scrambled eggs and toast or a croissant (don't really like croissants though) or hash browns. Although I could be the exact same Steph and end up having the relatively similar stuff listed above (I always mix up the flavours) and the smoothie bowls will be going now where... especially now that I've re-stocked my frozen fruit supply:
 Bring on the yummies!

Tell me:
Do you love breakfast? It just so happens to be my favourite meal of the day :)
Do you often have the same thing every day?
Are you a sweet/ savoury breakfast eater? I am definitely a sweet, fruity kinda brekky girl, however every once in a blue moon I get the craving for the toast and eggs!

Ciao for now! :D

Lovin'on the breakfast front!

Hello friends!
Today I thought I'd create a post dedicated to breakfasts, because last week almost every brekky I consumed was deeee-lish!
I started off Monday with a simple-pimple brekky (Monday is the start of the week- a 'no thinking required' brekky is a must!) of two wholemeal crumpets topped smothered in cashew butter with a berry delicious smoothie (I couldn't help myself)
The smoothie was simply 1 frozen banana, 4 large over ripe frozen strawberries (I bought a big punnet on the weekend) and a handful of frozen black grapes (just coz I thought they'd be good in a smoothie:) some greek yoghurt, oat milk and chia seeds- done!
I love crumpets and hadn't eaten one for like 2 years prior to buying a wholemeal packet and freezing them a few weeks back.
 Yum!
Either Tuesday or Wednesday (I forget) I made oats :)
Using my sneaky little nut butter trick:

I topped my bowl off with some banana cinnamon steel cut oats:
With a side of strawberry (same strawberries as before- not frozen) yoghurt (cut up strawberries+ greek yoghurt)
One of my absolute favourites of the week was a banana mango thickie (extremely thick smoothie) topped with some cashew butter granola:
In the smoothie went 1 frozen banana, 1 handful frozen mango chunks, 2 scoops of greek yoghurt and a splash of milk= super creamy deliciousness:
Topped off with granola, similar to this one (kisses fingers like an Italian) perfecto:
This definitely filled me right up!
Now onto my favourite breakfast of the week! OIAJ!
Choc protein overnight oats in an almost empty peanut butter jar with a side of banana yoghurt (1 banana whazzed up in greek yoghrut)
The OIAJ were like eating a super rich, indulgent nutty dessert! To make:
fill a peanut butter jar about1/2 way up with muesli. Mix together in a seperate bowl about 3?4 cup milk, 1 scoop choc protein powder and 1/2 tablespoon raw cacoa- microwave for 40 seconds- 1 min, then stir until combined.
Add to jar of muesli, shake with top on, take top off and place in fridge overnight!

Soooo good- I also nearly didn't finish this one it was so filling- but it tasted too good not too... I'll suffer through it! ;)

Like breakfast? Hate it? Skip it? (I sure hope not!)
Tell me your favourite brekky as of late :) (as you can see I can never have the exact same brekky two days in a row)

See ya later- maybe even for an upcoming breakfast recipe featuring coconut and this guy:
:D

It's time for Africa!

Guys, the day has arrived.

And I don't even know where it came from!!!

All of a sudden I was waking up in my bed for the last morning before I leave on a plane to Africa!
To say I'm excited....
would be 1000% correct.
To say I'm nervous would be 10000% correct on top of that.

All in all I'm ready for a shock. A shock from the sheltered perfect life I've lived in my 16 years on this Earth. I'm ready to be introduced to something bigger, more confronting. Real.

So, I guess I'm ready! In that sense however...I still need to pack my bag! (so I guess I'm not quite ready to physically leave, but mentally; let's go!)

Anywho, here's a look at some of the pics I've snapped on my camera from the past few days as this will probably be my last post for around 3 weeks- DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME!

Over the week I've been eating all of my favourite foods/ meals:

Black + blue berry fro you (frozen blackberries and blueberries whazzed up with greek yoghurt) and a PB and banana toasted sandwich.
 Nom!
 Last training day eats:
Choc protein powder overnight oats with a banana.
Eaten like this in case you were wondering:
This crazy awesome carrot from the odd-bunch groceries:
And lastly, my new favourite bowl of oats on my last morning in Aus:
Blueberries, steel cut oats, banana, coconut butter, almond milk, vanilla protein powder, chia seeds, lemon rind and juice  and greek yoghurt:
 SO GOOD!
Super filling, filled with nutrients and extremely delicious!
I feel like I'll keep this amazing food going for the reast of the day before I leave for the airport!
Now, I seriously need to go pack!

Tell me (I'll read them when I get back ;)
What's your favourite breakfast at the moment?
Are you a pack 2-weeks prior or on the day kind of person?
If you could go anywhere right now, where would you go?

I hope you all have a fabulous day/ week/ 3 weeks and I'll be back with all your lovely faces in 3 weeks! Bye friends!!! :D

Holidays, holidays, holidays, hey- hey- hey!

Name that song! Oh wait no... I think it's just called Holidays... :)
Any-who, that's what it is for me! No school!
None of this: (well for 2 weeks)
How did I celebrate? With some delicious food (and awful pics- sorry!)
On the last day of term I made the most delicious layered, parfait, something or other:
It was also about 6:45 am so excuse the flash :)
The ice creamy thing was a frozen banana whazzed up with two spoons of greek yoghurt and about 1-2 tablespoons of almond butter (slightly melted)

Sooo creamy good:)
Then it was layered with some overnight oats and fruit:

And... my camera died before I could get a spoon shot!
Then for dinner I treated myself even more with... PIZZA!

Based off this recipe.
Then for my first holiday brekky I made...
Apple cinnamon cheesecake oats with a side of frozen mango smoothie! Super simple +super yummy!
I placed 1/2 cup oats in a saucepan with some chia seeds, sprinkle of cinnamon and 3/4 chopped apple + 1 cup of almond milk and let thicken before I started stirring until it reached my desired thickness. I then stirred in 2 spoonfuls of greek yoghurt and topped with another small sprinkle of cinnamon and some almond butter:
The mango frozen thing was simply 1 handful of frozen mango whazzed with 1 cup of soy milk- again sooo easy and sooo good!

And my camera wqas charged this morning so.. I got some spoon shots:

Now, back to relaxing!
I hope everyone has a fab Friday! (TGIF!) :D
